Before Peace Lutheran Church was founded, a number of German Lutheran families had already migrated into the Pendleton area, with missionaries conducting services. In 1892, the church was established, and in 1897, a church building was dedicated. A new building was dedicated in 1924 in Pendleton, with the services being discontinued in the countryside in 1927, as a new parsonage building was established.
